Win Challenge Overlay

What is a win challenge?

In a win challenge (or winchallenge) you have to win a fixed list of games one after another – you only move on once the current game is won. Your viewers want to see where you stand at any moment: which games are done, which one you're playing and what's still ahead.

The Challenges layer in Vision turns that list into an overlay for OBS. Tick off wins live, mark the current game and optionally run a timer for each game.

How to create your win challenge overlay

Getting Started

1. Create a new overlay or open an existing one
2. In the left click on the "+" icon and select the Challenges Layer
3. Drag the layer to your desired location
4. Rename your layer to change the challenge name
5. Add your games to the challenge and always select the one you're currently playing, optionally you can start a timer for each game
6. Save your overlay and update the challenge during your stream

Letting Your Mods Help

One of Vision's unique features is collaboration. You can grant your moderators permission

1. Go to Permissions → Roles
2. Use a prebuilt role or create a custom one. Make sure the role has the permission to view and edit overlays
3. Click on users and invite your moderator

Styling

Vision allows styling all layers, including challenges. You can change the font, color, background color, and in-/out-animations.

Win challenge games: ideas for your list

A good win challenge list mixes quick wins with one or two games that will keep you stuck for a while. Some classics, by type:

• Party & battle royale: Fall Guys (win a show), Stumble Guys, Fortnite (one Victory Royale)
• Racing: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (finish a race in first place), Trackmania (beat a track under a set time)
• Sports: Rocket League (win a match), EA Sports FC (win an online game), Wii Sports (a round of bowling or tennis)
• Puzzle & strategy: Chess (win an online game), GeoGuessr (a round above a set score), Tetris (win a round against other players)
• Fighting games: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 8 or Street Fighter 6 (win an online match)
• Nostalgia picks: Mario Party, Uno, Wii Party or a retro game your chat suggests

Let your chat pick one or two games – it adds tension when the game everyone fails at finally comes up.

Rules and timers for your win challenge

Set the rules before you go live and put them in your stream title or a chat command:

• What counts as a win? Ranked or casual, against people or the computer, which difficulty
• Order: A fixed order, or can you skip a game and come back to it later?
• Time: With the optional timer per game, your chat sees how long you've been stuck on a game. Start it when you begin that game
• Across several streams: The overlay keeps your progress, so you pick up where you left off next stream
