Create a free Twitch overlay in your browser

Build your Twitch overlay for OBS for free: chat, counters, timers and win challenges on one overlay with up to 10 layers. No download, no credit card.

Workflow

How to create your free Twitch overlay

Vision is an overlay editor that runs in your browser. You place layers like chat, counters or timers on a canvas, and OBS shows the result as a single browser source. Changes you make in the editor appear on stream right away – no re-import, no file juggling.

  1. 1

    Sign up for free

Create a Vision account with Twitch or email. The Free plan needs no credit card.

  2. 2

    Add your layers

Create an overlay and add up to 10 layers: your Twitch chat, a death or win counter, a countdown, a win challenge list, images or one of 20 widgets from the gallery.

  3. 3

    Style it

Move and resize each layer, then pick fonts, colors and animations so the overlay matches your stream.

  4. 4

    Add it to OBS

Copy the overlay URL and add it in OBS as a Browser Source with the same size as your canvas. That's the whole setup.

The details

What the Free plan includes

1 overlay, up to 10 layers

Enough for a full scene: chat, counter, timer, challenge and a few images. Basic and Pro raise the overlay and layer limits.

1 OBS connection

Use your overlay in one OBS instance at a time. 10 sounds and 1 GB of storage for images and media are included.

20 widgets

Start from ready-made widgets in the gallery instead of building every element yourself.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the overlay really free?

Yes. The Free plan includes your first overlay with up to 10 layers, free forever. You only pay if you want more overlays, more OBS connections or custom roles with your own permissions.

Do I need to download anything?

No. You build the overlay in your browser and add it to OBS as a Browser Source. It also works in Streamlabs Desktop and other software that supports browser sources.

Can my mods edit the overlay?

Yes. Add your mods by their Twitch account and give them the built-in Editor or Admin role – then they can edit the overlay with you. Custom roles with your own permissions and invite links are part of Basic and Pro.

Does it work for YouTube or Kick too?

Yes. The overlay is a browser source in OBS, so it works with whatever platform you stream to.
