Workflow
How to set up your Kick overlay
A Vision overlay is a single browser source in OBS, so every layer works on Kick: counters, timers, win challenges, images and scenes. On top of that, Vision reads your Kick chat directly and shows it in your overlay – on its own or merged with Twitch and YouTube.
- 1
Sign in with Kick
Create your Vision account with your Kick login. The Free plan includes one overlay with up to 10 layers and needs no credit card.
- 2
Add your Kick chat
Add a chat layer and enter your Kick channel. Add your Twitch or YouTube channel too if you multistream, and the messages appear in one chat.
- 3
Add the rest of your layers
Place a death or win counter, a countdown, a win challenge list or images. Style fonts, colors and animations to match your stream.
- 4
Add it to OBS
Copy the overlay URL and add it in OBS as a Browser Source with the same size as your canvas, then go live on Kick as usual.
The details
What works with Kick
Kick chat in your overlay
Show Kick chat with badges, alone or merged with Twitch and YouTube chat in one layer.
Every overlay layer
Counters, timers, challenges, images and scenes work the same on Kick, because OBS shows the overlay as a browser source.
Subathons and automations (beta)
If you sign in with Kick, Kick subs, gift subs and Kicks can add time to a subathon timer, and automations can react when your Kick stream starts or ends.
FAQ
Common questions
Is the Kick overlay free?
Yes. The Free plan includes one overlay with up to 10 layers in one OBS instance. The free chat overlay tool works without an account.
Can I show Kick and Twitch chat together?
Yes. A chat layer can combine Kick, Twitch and YouTube chat, so multistreamers see every message in one place.
Do I need to sign in with Kick?
For Kick chat in the overlay, entering your channel name is enough. Kick events such as subs for a subathon timer need an account that signed in with Kick.
Does it work in Streamlabs Desktop or Meld?
Yes, as long as the software supports browser sources. Add the overlay URL as a browser source with your canvas size.
